A double CD from this rather obscure experimental Melbourne outfit. The tracks are quite lengthy (as improv music tends to be), and quite ...soothing. They were recorded between 2000 and 2004 by Messrs. bendy and adm.
The title is most apt as listening to this really does feel like some satellite hurtling through space, picking up transmissions or perhaps sending them out in its own strange machine language. Bleeps, loops, whirrs and other assorted sonic oddities pepper this thing, and whilst its not glitch, its ... something. Definitely explorative ambient stuff, where you get the feeling the composers had no idea where they were going, but the journey was fun, and the end results mesmerizing.

Holy craps! Imagine a John Wayne western, with the script written by cyberpunk godfather William Gibson. This here would be the soundtrack for that masterpiece - a bizarre yet involving mix of country n' western (bluegrass?) and electronic beats n' bleeps.
Sweet harmonies, hypnotic tunes, glitch, lonesome cowboy songs with whirrs n' clicks n' odd bits of keyboard riding atop plucked guitar strings. Melancholy female voices, chipmunk effects and good ole fashioned "dnb".
This has it all.

Buttress O’Kneel started making audio-documentaries in 2000 (“Proudly Unaustralian”) in response to globalisation and state-sponsored police violence. She is best known for her work about the 9/11 disaster and the “war on terror” (“Afraid of Enduring Freedom”, produced in the two weeks after the incident and released by Illegal Art in the USA a year later); is co-producer of the infamous short film about Mr Howard and Mr Bush’s “special relationship” (“A Deep Personal Love”, co-released with Clint Flicks and the Media Empire), and is renowned for her piratical collage style, her unwavering social conscience, her black humour, and her ability to rock the house party till the break of dawn. With her latest effort, “Dear Fellow Australians”, she initiates an “independent inquiry” into what it means to have “australian values”, when the hystory of the country is based squarely on invasion, genocide, abusing the needy, institutionalised racism, and lies. This is the album australia needs to have, but is too scared to listen to.

Fat Little Bastard - Oskorei Jazz Cafe Vol 1 (2004)

FAT LITTLE BASTARD is my (Xtian's) band, and Oskorei Jazz Cafe is FLB's 11th and 12th album - there is a volume two as well, see.
FLB is an experimental project, and as such, most of the albums are different from each other. I'll post a full discography later, for now have a look

With this double album I tried to squish jazz and black metal together and invent "oskorei jazz". Not all the songs on the album are like that, in fact most are the result of clashing various genres together to create songs. There is an over-all element of silliness and fun to both volumes, the idea being to conjure up a cafe in coldest Norway, where the clientelle wear corpse-paint and Hawaiian shirts (something I've been known to do!). The whole thing was written and recorded by yours truly, all female vox by the very talented Lady Hannah Cadaver. Lyrics to track 6 by Antonin Artaud, all other lyrics and jibbersish by me.

Hey there!

It all began when I accepted that my music was too weird to be commercially successful on this planet. Oh sure, I had mp3 sites and myspace, but where's the $ from my hard arty toil? Bah!
Seeing how I knew too many people in a similar situation (millions of great songs, but no-one outside their homes hears it ever), I decided to set up this blog to share WEIRD music!
If your music is too genius to keep hidden and too weird for mass media - why not share it here?

Here's how it works:

1.
i) UPLOAD your music (the whole album, or the first half) to a storage site (eg: www.rapidshare.de), then
ii) send me the URL,
iii) send me a picture of you/ your album cover
iv) send a Track listing of the album, and
v) send a description of you and your music.

AND / OR

2. If you have a myspace / mp3 site somewhere :
i) send me the URL,
ii) send a picture of you/ your CD, PLUS
iii) a paragraph or two describing you/ your music/ your latest CD.
